In June 2023, the Louisiana Leadership Institute of Baton Rouge, La. awarded the McKinley High School Alumni Association with $50,000.00 for implementing a program to benefit the youth in the community. We are extremely grateful to La. State Senator Cleo Fields, District 14 for his vision and sponsorship.
Beginning in late August, a Youth Enrichment Program for students between the ages 10-18 will be established. The program will be operated at the McKinley Alumni Center, 1520 Thomas H. Delpit Drive during the months of August – December 2023. Jimmy Porter, Program Director made the announcement during the August Monthly Board Meeting.
