McKinley High School Alumni Association honored five persons at its annual banquet held April 7 in the Cotillion Ballroom at Southern University.

Gray, McKinley graduate is a noted jazz musician, front man for the Michael Foster Project band, and a highly honored music instructor at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge.
Andrus, an accomplished singer, dancer and honor student McKinley High, sang a stirring rendition of the National Anthem at President Barack Obama’s famous Town Hall meeting held Jan. 14 at McKinley.
Mrs. Raby, a 1941 graduate and mother of six McKinley grads, spent 26 years as a School Food Service Manager in East Baton Rouge Parish. After raising her family she returned to college and earned a degree in 1978.
Joseph, an honor student with a 4.5 gpa., introduced President Barack Obama at the president’s Jan. 14, Town Hall meeting. Joseph is McKinley’s Student of the Year for 2015.
Brister was the guiding force behind the long hours of preparation at McKinley High for President Obama’s visit.
