Congratulations to the Rev. Dale Flowers on becoming the new president of the McKinley High School Alumni Association and the rest of the newly elected Association board.
Flowers, a 1982 McKinley High graduate, is the pastor of New Sunlight Baptist Church, was nominated and elected without opposition.
The following are members of the new board.
Melvin Mitchell, a member of the class of 1964, was elected vice president with 22 votes over Cathy Holden, class of 1974, with 14 votes.
Brenda Gail Turner was elected secretary. She was opposed. (no photo)
Hagar Brown-Anderson, graduate of the class of 1996, is the assistant secretary. She was elected with 27 votes over Linda Short, a 1975 graduate, with 9 votes.
Vera Ellois, class of 1968, was elected Financial Secretary. She was unopposed.
Drusilla Carter, class of 1972, was elected Treasurer. She was unopposed.
Daryl Blacher, a 1974 graduate, was elected Parliamentarian with 23 votes over Ira Wilmer, class of 1966 with 13 votes.
Jeffrey Neal, class of 1964, was elected Sergeant-at-Arms
Georgia Neal, from the class of 1964, was elected Chaplain with 26 votes over the Rev. Frederick Stewart, class of 1967, with 10 votes.
